If you’re expecting and already thinking about newborn photos — you’re onto it! The best time to book is actually before your baby arrives. Why? Because newborns grow and change so quickly in those first weeks, and having your spot secured means we can plan ahead and make sure we capture that fleeting, fresh season without stress.

Here’s what you can expect when you book a newborn session with me.

Children relaxing kissing their newborn brother on the bed, casual, natural together on a comfortable couch in a cozy living room setting.

Booking Before Baby Arrives

I always recommend booking while you’re still pregnant — usually in your second or third trimester. Once your little one is here, life gets busy (hello, sleepless nights 👋). By booking in advance, you’ll have one less thing to organise later. We’ll pencil in your due date, and then I’ll keep some wiggle room around that time so we can lock in your actual session once bub makes their arrival.

No Studio, No Stress

I come to you. Your home, your cosy lounge, even your backyard if the light’s right. Babies (and parents) are more relaxed in their own space, and you don’t need to deep-clean the house — just one spot with nice light will do.

Baby-Led Sessions

Forget stiff posing and strict time limits. If your baby needs a feed, a cuddle, or a nappy change — we pause. I love capturing those quiet in-between moments just as much as the “main” shots, because they’re part of your story too.

No Wrapping Required

You won’t see your baby in complicated wraps or propped up in baskets. My approach is natural and simple — think baby in your arms, curled up on the bed, or nestled against your chest. These are the images you’ll look back on and feel again.

What to Wear (and Prep Tips)

I’ll send you a guide with tips once you’re booked in, but the short version is: keep it comfy and simple. Neutrals, soft textures, nothing too busy. The focus is on connection, not matching outfits.

The Whole Family is Welcome

Siblings, partners, even pets — everyone’s invited. Some of my favourite moments are the unplanned ones, like a toddler sneaking in for a cuddle or your dog keeping watch nearby.

How Long Does It Take?

Sessions usually run 60–90 minutes, but I keep it flexible. The whole idea is to keep things calm and unrushed.

After the Session

I’ll send through a little sneak peek within a couple of days (because I know you’ll be excited to see them!) and your full gallery will follow in 4 weeks. From there, you can order prints or keepsakes straight from your gallery.

Booking your newborn session before your baby is born is the best way to make sure you don’t miss out on capturing this once-in-a-lifetime season. My sessions are natural, relaxed, and totally baby-led — no baby wrapping required.

So if you’re dreaming of newborn photos that feel like you — calm, cosy, and full of love — now’s the perfect time to book.
